In November, we had the great honor of organizing the Viimsi Business Gala 2024, an event held for the first time in Viimsi Municipality. This event highlighted and recognized Viimsi entrepreneurs—individuals and businesses who contribute to their community with more than just services or products. They are the heart and soul of Viimsi: its caretakers, developers, and supporters.

The awarded companies were not chosen randomly —the laureates were selected by the Viimsi community itself, by people who experience their impact daily. Their influence extends beyond business success, shaping and enriching the living environment of Viimsi Municipality while providing support and joy in everyday life.

During the gala evening, 14 awards were presented in various categories: tourism, creative industries, education, catering, services, manufacturing, beauty and healthcare, newcomer, innovation, companies supporting local initiatives and projects, environmentally friendly and sustainable businesses, and community caretakers—companies that have been operating in Viimsi for at least 15 years. Additionally, a special award and the title of “People’s Favorite” were given to businesses whose services or products have created exceptionally positive emotions.

Before the event, we created videos of all the award winners. A hardworking film crew spent three full days visiting different companies and individuals, conducting interviews, and getting to know the award recipients. This provided an in-depth look at their activities and confirmed that they were truly deserving of recognition. The companies also received short videos for their own use, such as for marketing purposes.

Recognition events focus primarily on what happens on stage, which is why it’s crucial to carefully plan the visual presentation. At the Viimsi Business Gala, we brought a symbolic circle to the stage—representing the cycle of life and the cyclical nature of entrepreneurship. The colorful autumn leaves reminded us of the end of the year but also symbolized the continuous nature of entrepreneurship: an ongoing effort that business leaders live and breathe around the clock. A company is like a family, requiring care and carrying responsibility.

Recognition for such dedication is invaluable, as it highlights the crucial role of entrepreneurs in strengthening and developing the community. Events like this, organized by local governments, inspire new initiatives and encourage people to start businesses even in smaller regions, helping to ensure the area’s vitality and sustainability.

The evening was filled with a wonderful atmosphere. The gala was hosted by the talented Elena Aulis, with double bassist Robert Nõmmann providing a delightful musical introduction. Interludes featured performances by young singers from the Maire Eliste ensemble and the EKSPERIMENT theater group, who brought fresh energy and creativity to the stage, encouraging young people to be confident and open to exploring the world. The evening concluded with a performance by Ewert Sundja, whose new and familiar songs brought smiles to people’s faces and served as the perfect final note to the gala.
