The Viimsi Recognition Event once again took place in its authentic and festive winter atmosphere. Just before Christmas, we had the great pleasure of organizing the 34th anniversary recognition event for the re-establishment of Viimsi Municipality in the grand hall of Viimsi Artium. This formal and heartfelt evening was dedicated to honoring individuals whose dedication and actions have significantly contributed to the development and daily life of the local community.

Special attention was given to the fields of culture and sports, recognizing both outstanding individuals and teams. Awards were also presented in the areas of environmental and social work, as well as education and youth work. Additionally, the Community of the Year was announced, a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented, and an honorary citizen of the municipality was named.

The Viimsi Recognition Event is an annual official celebration of the municipality, characterized by its dignity, formality, and anticipation. It serves as a sincere expression of gratitude to those who enrich the community. In addition to the awards ceremony, an integral part of the evening is always a concert, with a carefully selected performer chosen to resonate with the audience at that moment, bringing joy and sparkle to their eyes.

In 2024, the performer was Jaan Pehk, whose warm and open presence created a cozy pre-Christmas atmosphere, encouraging both young and old residents of the municipality to sing along. Additional performances featured groups led by Ita-Riina Pedanik and Viimsi Music School student Mattias Must. The evening was hosted by the radiant Maarja Männimägi.
