The magic of a winter wedding in Southern Estonia

01.20.2024

White ground, hot mulled wine, the crunch of snow underfoot, and steam rising from the warmth in everyone’s hearts—these were all elements of a wedding held in January. It was -20 degrees, bringing a touch of true winter magic to the wedding day. So cold and crisp, yet so special and warm.

The wedding ceremony took place in the charming church of Otepää. The bride and groom walked hand in hand to the altar, accompanied by a harp piece performed by Kai Visnapuu. Afterwards, the celebration was moved to a ski base near Otepää, where guests warmed up with hot mulled wine, and Jaak Mae hosted a fun sledding competition for the newlyweds.

Later in the day, everyone headed to Kivitalu. At the door of the side building, guests were greeted by Living Sculptures. Inside, they could ring a bell at the prosecco wall for a refreshing limoncello, enjoy the pleasant music of Pauric O’Meara, and congratulate the newly married couple. Pauric O’Meara is a singer from Ireland and this was a second time when we asked him to perform in Estonia. Once again, he did not disappoint and brought the best cover hits live on stage.

The festivities continued in the party house, where we had created a banquet hall decorated with plaster flowers and greenery, perfectly complementing the crisp winter weather.
